Orgelduo
Clara Hahn & Denis Pisarevskiy

The organ duo Octaphonia, founded in 2026, is dedicated to the development and performance of exceptional repertoire for organ four hands. At the center of its artistic work lies a creative engagement with orchestral, piano, and organ literature from various musical periods.

The musical couple combines a broad artistic background with an active concert career. Clara Hahn (*1991), second Organist at the Stiftskirche Stuttgart, studied Protestant Church Music in Tübingen and Heidelberg, most recently with Maria Mokhova, graduating with distinction in organ performance. She received important artistic inspiration through masterclasses with renowned organists such as Martin Sander, Zsolt Gárdonyi, and Olivier Latry. At the Stiftskirche Stuttgart, she performs regularly in liturgical services and concerts, both as a soloist and in collaboration with choirs and chamber music partners, while also contributing to church music education. Beyond Stuttgart, she appears throughout Germany as a soloist and chamber musician, with a particular interest in music by female composers.

Denis Pisarevsky (*1993, Moscow) studied at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory and later at the Stuttgart University of Music and Performing Arts, where he completed his Konzertexamen in organ with Prof. Ludger Lohmann. Alongside his studies in organ and composition, he pursued advanced training in instrumental pedagogy and is currently continuing his studies in Protestant Church Music in Tübingen. He is a prizewinner of numerous international competitions, including the First Prize at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music International Organ Competition in 2019. In 2020 he was awarded the title “Organist of the Year” in Russia, and in 2021 received both the First Prize and the Special Prize at the “Faszination Orgel” International Organ Competition of the Max Reger Institute in Mannheim. In addition to his work as a concert organist, he is also active as a composer, with a broad oeuvre ranging from solo and chamber music to orchestral works and opera.

With Octaphonia, the two musicians unite their artistic experience and shared love of music, opening new sonic perspectives on the organ repertoir.
Denis Pisarevskiy began playing piano and composing music at the age of four. He graduated with distinction from the Moscow Conservatory in composition and organ performance before continuing his studies at the Stuttgart University of Music with Prof. Dr. Ludger Lohmann, alongside studies in organ improvisation, harpsichord, and composition. In 2022 he completed his Konzertexamen in organ with highest honors.

As a soloist, he has performed across Europe and Asia, appearing in concerts with ensembles, orchestras, and chamber music partners. Denis is a prizewinner of numerous international organ competitions, including first prizes in Athens, Shanghai, Mannheim, and St. Petersburg. Alongside his concert career, he is also active as a composer, writing works ranging from solo and chamber music to orchestral and operatic repertoire. Since 2023, he has continued his studies in choral conducting and organ improvisation in Tübingen.

Clara Hahn grew up in Aalen, Germany, where she became involved in church music from an early age through choir singing and instrumental studies. She studied Church Music in Tübingen and Heidelberg, combining organ performance, choir conducting, liturgical music, and concert organization. In 2021 she was appointed 2. Stiftsorganistin at the Stiftskirche Stuttgart, where she performs regularly in both liturgical services and concerts. She performs successfully throughout Germany as a soloist and in collaboration with instrumentalists, singers, and choral ensembles. In her free time, she sometimes plays the double bass in orchestras, an accordion in bands.
